Who must audition?
Only principal and featured continuing performers.
Auditions are required for the six principal characters, Senior Outsiders, Local Rebel Girls, and Local Rebel Boys.
Class-assigned performance pods do not need individual principal-cast auditions unless a student also wants to be considered for an auditioned role.
Principal roles

What to prepare
Expect a mix of acting, voice, and movement.
Choose a listed reference song or bring your own suitable piece. Students choosing their own piece may provide either a playable link or a copy of the song or backing track; the production team will confirm where to send it.
- A short spoken scene
- A vocal selection for singing roles
- A brief movement-learning exercise
- A response-to-direction exercise
- A recorded-voice test
- A short playback-synchronisation exercise
Audition music
Reference songs and YouTube previews.
These tracks introduce the show’s musical world and character styles. They are not a required song list unless the audition team assigns a particular piece. Previews load only when selected.
How casting works
What the audition panel considers.
The criteria are public so students can prepare with confidence. The panel considers the whole audition and the needs of the full company—not one isolated score.
Individual scores, applications, panel notes, comparisons, callback discussions, and final casting deliberations are confidential and are not published on this website.
Audition process
From role research to final communication.
Role flexibility
Students may indicate more than one preferred role. The panel may also consider applicants for another suitable principal, featured, ensemble, or production role.
Cast and crew
Students may express interest in both performance and production work. Final assignments will consider schedules, workload, safety, and production needs.
Available dates
Eight audition days, 3:00–4:00 PM.
There are no Wednesday sessions. Your confirmed date and any venue change will be sent using the contact information provided during registration.
Communication
Why the form requests a contact number.
A contact number is required so the production team can send confirmed audition schedules, venue changes, callback notices, and other essential audition updates. Contact details will not be displayed publicly.
